Hylands House and Estate
Following 20 years of restoration, Hylands House is fully restored. Visitors can enjoy all of the spectacular rooms, ranging from the exquisitely gilded Drawing Room to the sumptuously ornate Banqueting Room. The magnificent Grand Staircase has been restored to its former glory, and the Repton Room on the first floor provides stunning views over the landscaped parkland. Open Sundays and Mondays throughout the year from 11am until 6pm (4pm on Mondays from 1st October - 31st April). Entry is £3.40, £2.40 Cons and accompanied under 16's are free.
The house is set in 574 acres of grade II listed parkland and visitors can enjoy the historic woodland, Serpentine Lake and Pleasure Gardens. The park is continuing to develop with the new One World Garden to commerate the World Scout Jamboree, officially opened by the Duke of Kent and Prince William in July 2007. The park opens at 7.30am every morning and closes at dusk throughout the year.
Recently restored, the grade II listed Stables Centre offers a focal point for visitors to the park. Facilities include Huttons Courtyard Cafe (open 7 days a week from 8.30am until 5pm or 4pm in the winter months), Artist Studio's, Gift Shop, Interpretation room, education room, stables, and lift access. Heavy Horses can be seen working on the Estate throughout the year. Please call 01245 605523 for times and dates.
There is free parking when visiting Hylands Estate and house including a number of accessible bays.
