Loseley Park
Loseley Park is situated in 1400 acres of beautiful rolling countryside, South of Guildford in Surrey.
Loseley House was built in 1562, at the request of Queen Elizabeth I by Sir William More and the present day occupants, the More-Molyneux family, are direct descendants of the original owner. The House is a classic example of Elizabethan architecture, featuring many fine works of art including paintings, tapestries and panelling from Henry VIII’s Nonsuch Palace. Loseley was honoured by several royal visits, including Queen Elizabeth on three ccasions and James I.
A stunning 2.5 acre Walled Garden based on a design by Gertrude Jekyll is situated close to the House and is compared favourably by experts to gardens of national renown. There are five different ‘rooms’ within the garden, including a rose garden, a flower garden, a white garden, herb garden and an extensive organic vegetable garden. Newly planted in 2006 is a beautiful flower meadow. Other attractions include courtyard tearoom for refreshments and light lunches, a gift shop and plant sales.
Loseley House Opening Times: May to August: Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday. Gardens and Grounds from May to September: Tuesday to Sunday.
Loselely Park is also available for hire for private functions, corporate meetings and seminars, large public events and civil wedding ceremonies and receptions. It has 100 acres for activity days including a 4WD Course.
